- Passed away at Eventide Home, Stawell on Aug. 4th 2026, Dearly loved husband to Elwyn (Dec), loved father to David, Alison and their families.
- The Funeral Service will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Stawell on Wednesday Aug. 12th commencing at 1.00pm.
Our condolences to David, Alison and families. Keith was our back door (gate) neighbour for 62years and neighbours in the Gold Reef Mall for many years. We have great memories. The end of an era.

To David Alison and the extended Haymes family. Sincere condolences on the passing of your Dad. I have the best memories of your Dad in the early days of the Stawell Amateur Athletic Club doing the out back course to the cross roads on Deep Lead Road in the pitch black. Haymesy being the guiding voice in either track or cross country with his bellowing voice seeking to get the best out of you. I have no doubt without your knowledge, guidance and tenacity the SAAC wouldn’t have been anywhere near as successful. Great times Haymesy and I’m forever grateful for your input. Rest easy you’ve earned it.

Thanks for your kind words about Dad. He was certainly the motivator in the running club and loved everything about running and the SAAC. I remember when he was in his 70’s and he was complaining because he couldn’t run due to a sore knee !! I said to him, Dad, you really don’t have to run at your age and he was quite insulted by that !! ha ha !! Cheers Rod, All the best yah, Dave H
Memories of Keith, played in the Band at the Ararat Saturday night dances, always willing to give the local Stawell teenagers a lift to & fro.

Remembering Keith as an outstanding community leader, sportsman and and excellent menswear retailer… once when trying on a coat I asked Keith “ is this waterproof “.?His polite reply “it will turn a shower”!Loved the comment and use it to this day with our kids and grandkids..

Where do you live now ? I spent 30 years working overseas, mostly Indonesia but retired and living in Bendigo now. Getting old !! ha ha !!

I started at SAAC in 1971. Keith was so committed to it’s success. Key Keith quote memories i recall were “our club had to withdraw our basketball side because we were too fast”, “our colours are Red for courage, black for guts and white for sportsmanship”. Keith wore his heart on his sleeve and gave so much time to those who wanted to become better athletes. He was a driver behind the success of SAAC in the Ballarat regional Cross Country. Determined and Tireless. Recently we had chats about our mutual love of Lawn Bowls. RIP Keith.

Dear David, Alison and families, so sorry for your loss. Keith was my running coach many years ago and I remember many adventures in Keith’s blue car in the Ironbarks, my sister and I even had to push Keiths car out of a ditch once! Keith often spoke of his family with so much love and pride. I will be forever grateful that Keith sparked my love of running! Kind Regards, Jacinta.
Fond memories of Keith from my time as a young runner at the SAAC in the 1970’s..A larger than life figure who instilled solid values in all who came across him,and a man who made an invaluable contribution to the community.

Dear David, Alison and families, What a beautiful service you held today and I am so grateful to your Dad and Pop, to me he was simply Coach. I miss him terribly along with you and still sought his guidance on any running I undertook and he would always write me a new training program no matter the distance. We are all so blessed to have had him in our lives. A true gentleman who adored his lovely big family and all he came into contact with. Rest easy

Good friends of mum and dad, with Keith making sure dad, in his later years, got to church on time.
