Cooper – Raymond David

Passed away peacefully at MacPherson Smith Nursing Home on 13th December 2025, aged 94 years.

Beloved husband of Valerie (Dec). Devoted father of Richard & Jenny, Stephen & Deborah, Andrew & Cindy, and Anne-Marie. Dearly loved grandfather of Aaron, Sam, Caitlin, David, Stephanie & Lauren and their partners. Great grandfather of 9.

“To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die”

A Graveside service will be held on Friday 19th December 2025, at 11.00am at the Stawell Cemetery.

    • We extend our sincere condolences to Ray’s family.
      He was a man with a strong moral compass and had a strong focus on the wellbeing of his family.
      He also served the Stawell community, particularly through his membership of Rotary, which rewarded him with the prestigious “Paul Harris Fellowship”.

  2. Condolances to all the Cooper family,

    Both Ray and Val gave me wonderful friendship and supprt through my traumatic time during the loss of my daughter and wife. Both Rohan and myself were very apprecitive of your kindness and care in me.

    Ray gave me guidance during my time in ROTARY. and enjoyment on our Caravan trips.

  5. Ray always had a special place in the hearts of his sister, Phyllis, and brother-in-law, Colin McKinnis. He was a wonderful support during challenging times in their lives and they always kept in close contact.
    I will always remember Uncle Ray’s open arms and cheerful smile whenever we met.
    His generous spirit will always be remembered.
